We – at grade 3 – love experiments, group activities and work stations! Here are some of the things we learned hands on in Math and Science classes this month:

Water takes the shape of the container it’s poured into, because that’s what liquids do. The same cup of water fit into a large, flat plate AND a thin straw, can you believe it?

We used weighing scales to find out how much our stationery weighs. Did you know that a piece of chalk only weighs a gram?

Potassium permanganate is a water-soluble substance, and it turned our cup such a brilliant pink!

We brainstormed how our different our surroundings look during the day and at night – and then drew pictures!

We studied calendars and now can read them to check the day and date on our own.
